A smiling woman stands on the steps outside a classical building with large columns and ornate architecture. She is dressed in a black blazer, white shirt, blue jeans, and red heels. There is a sign on the sidewalk advertising an exhibit, and other brick buildings are visible in the background.

Welcome to my website!

My name is Lily Theders and I am a Chicago-based museum worker currently finishing a masters in public history at Loyola University Chicago. My scholarly interests are 19th century America and the history of medicine and I am looking to build a career in museum education, outreach, and programming. Museums transformed me into the historian that I am today and I hope that through my work, I can have a similar impact on the next generation of scholars.

This site exists so that you can get to know me, my work, and my passions. If you have a project that you are interested in working together on, have some thoughts on one of my book recommendations, or just want to nerd out over history, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
